Erik of Norway stylist BJ Rademann’s first impression of Jenny Ludeke-Steffes was that her hair was long and extremely dark. "I wanted to lighten her color and give her something soft and versatile," says Rademann.

Ludeke-Steffes’ hair had been dyed black. It had to be stripped in order to lighten it. This necessitated doing the color process in several stages. "I added highlights and toned her hair all over with a rich red brown. I removed a lot of length from Jenny’s hair and added soft layers to give her a fresh new look for spring."

Ludeke-Steffes’ makeup was applied by makeup artist Christina Gauthier. Gauthier started by evening out Ludeke-Steffes’ skin tone. "I used concealer and a light foundation that was then set with a loose powder. A shimmery eyeshadow in a lilac color, light lining on the lid with black eyeliner and mascara opened up and brightened her eyes."

Finishing with a bronzer to highlight her cheekbones and adding a light colored gloss to her lips completed Ludeke-Steffes’ transformation.
