Place to drink coffee and watch the world go by

Fiddleheads Espresso Bar and Cafe

Fiddleheads, 192 S. Main St., Thiensville, could have its own list of “best ofs.” Pick a favorite drink, a favorite seat, a favorite time of day.

“There’s a time of the morning when the sun comes in the window from the east and hits the espresso bar and the crema on the espresso shots. It’s beautiful,” says Lynn Wroblewski, who owns the shop with her husband, Steve Klimczak.

The Fiddleheads building dates to the 1840s and gives the shop a warm, antique atmosphere. On mild days, customers can relax in the outdoor seating on the banks of the Milwaukee River, while the cold winter months can be spent inside chatting with the friendly staff or simply lounging with a favorite brew. Customers are welcome to bring their dogs along, too, to bask in the outdoor sunshine.

“I love coming to this setting to work every day,” Wroblewski says.

“I love chatting with customers, and I love that we brew the best coffee around.”
