Cheap eats

By JORDAN DECHAMBRE-CHILDERS

In this economy, we’re all cutting corners — even if that means cutting out things we usually enjoy cutting, like steaks, chops and crusty breads at our favorite dining destinations. But don’t break out your apron just yet. Downtown Dining Week is returning May 28-June 4, and is offering its popular $10 lunch and $20 dinner three-course meals at more than 40 of the city’s hottest eateries. From French fare at Coquette Cafe (above) to Asian fusion at Umami Moto — and everything in between — Milwaukee Downtown and its fearless leader Beth Nicols are cooking up an event for Milwaukeeans to salivate about. Check out a full list of participating restaurants and menus at www.milwaukeedowntown.com/diningweek
