Here comes Kitty

It’s often said that great art runs in the family. And Kitty Sturrock is proving that to be true.

The Mequon resident, whose mother was an artist and grandfather an architect, has been chosen as one of the featured artists for this year’s Channel 10 Auction, which airs April 27-May 5.

Sturrock is an accomplished watercolor artist who has received numerous awards, including the League of Milwaukee Artist’s Award of Excellence and Wisconsin Watercolor Society’s People’s Choice Award.

Although Sturrock comes from a background of gifted artists, it wasn’t until Sturrock had her own children that she began to embrace her genetic talents. During this time, she took classes and studied with nationally known artists, such as Jean Crane.

For the Channel 10 Auction, Sturrock painted "Spider Mum with Eucalyptus Leaves." The piece uses Sturrock’s signature elements — dramatic white flowers on a vivid red background. See it for yourself on Channel 10.
