Local designers are feeling the love on Houzz.com, the online platform for ideas about architecture, interior design, landscape design and home improvement. The California-based website started in 2009 and features more than 2 million photos that people can add to ideabooks as they look for inspiration for their home projects. Here are four projects by Milwaukee-area firms that are catching a lot of interest.

Home Theater

Deep River Partners [ Milwaukee ]
www.deep-river.com
12,502 ideabooks

The Milwaukee architecture firm has been voted a Best of Houzz community for the last two years and has a dozen-plus photos with more than 5,000 ideabook selections. This project is a favorite for its dramatic home theater.

Sleek Kitchen

Susan Fredman Design Group [ Whitefish Bay ]
www.susanfredman.com
3,063 ideabooks

The galley-style contemporary Chicago kitchen (Susan Fredman also has a Windy City location), with its rift-cut oak cabinetry and custom-paneled appliances garners raves from viewers for its two-tone cabinetry, floors and color palette.

Backyard Landscape

Ginkgo Leaf Studio [ Cedarburg ]
www.ginkgoleafstudio.net
26,498 ideabooks

Award-winning contemporary craftsman landscape design whose signature element is a 5-foot in diameter fire pit and split fieldstone radial bench that is mentioned in the majority of the comments about this project.

Sunroom and Barbecue

Sazama Design Build Remodel [ Wauwatosa ]
www.remodelwithsaz.com

The glass sunroom complements the traditional architecture of the home, described in ideabooks as an atrium, greenhouse, conservatory, solarium and garden room. Viewers noted its green color as another plus.
