A study in contrast, gala fashion is all about making a statement in a more subdued atmosphere. This year’s trends incorporate feminine details (think cascading ruffles, lace fabrics and floral embellishments) and a variety of textures, including embossed fabrics and metallic imprints. The dress itself is the focal point of attention — jewelry and accessories are kept minimal and demure, complementing the look without distracting from it.
