Make A Statement

By JEN KENT

February 2017

From walking down the aisle to sashaying from table to table at the reception, the back of a bridal gown is just as visible as its front. “(The statement back) is a ‘must-have’ feature for so many brides,” says Allison Jacobsmeier of White Dress Bridal Boutique. “Similar to the ubiquitous ‘strapless dress’ requests of yore, brides’ visions for a statement back dress can vary greatly — from low-cut, high-exposure to all-over illusion lace to detailed beading in geometric shapes, the options are endless and designers have become wonderfully creative in this regard.” Here we round up four gowns with statement-making backs.
