Describe your aesthetic in one sentence.

A transitional approach mixed with classic style and plenty of whimsy.

Tell us about one of your favorite projects — and why you enjoyed it.

I did a project for a couple who had completely opposite design taste — not uncommon. The husband was more of a traditionalist, and the wife was very contemporary. We created a space together that embraced the traditional style of the home with the flair of contemporary furniture. Watching my clients evolve throughout the design process and seeing how proud they were to have come together to create a flavor that was unique and special to them was satisfying. That is truly what design is all about: If you love something, it will work.

What is something that would surprise people to learn about you?

As a young child, my brother and I competed in bowling tournaments all over the country, resulting in multiple college scholarship awards.

Finish this sentence: Every room needs _____ .

A piece that is meaningful to you.

What are your favorite Milwaukee-area spots — to dine local, shop local or do local?

For dining, my go-to is Elsa’s on the Park. They have one of the best desserts in town called the Golden Gate Cake — yum! As for fashion, MOdE is a little gem in Wauwatosa. I love its eclectic vibe. In the summertime, Hart Park in Wauwatosa is a very happening place. There’s a playground for kids, live music at the amphitheater and tasty local food trucks. It’s a great hot spot for families and pet-friendly too.
