Ascension Columbia St. Mary’s Hospital Ozaukee recently unveiled its geriatric-friendly emergency department, which was designed specifically to meet the unique needs of senior patients. This fall, Ascension Columbia St. Mary’s Hospital Milwaukee will convert its eighth floor into a new medical-surgical nursing unit that will open 16 additional beds to care for adult patients recovering from illness, injury or surgery.

Aurora Health Care

After two new surgery centers opened in Germantown and Burlington in 2016 and a new clinic opened in Oak Creek in 2017, Aurora plans to open an additional surgery center and clinic in Greenfield next summer. Offering both in-patient and out-patient treatment options, the 75,000-square-foot Dewey Center debuted this July on Aurora Psychiatric Hospital’s Wauwatosa campus. The system also has plans to open a new Mount Pleasant hospital in 2021.


Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin

In early June, Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin became one of 30 hospitals approved as a Kymriah site. Kymriah is the first FDA-approved CAR-T cell therapy for cancer. Early summer also brought a new Fetal Concerns Center to the hospital. The state-of-the-art facility provides a designated space for expectant mothers with high-risk pregnancies and fetal anomalies to receive high-quality, comprehensive and collaborative care.


Froedtert & The  Medical College of Wisconsin

In 2018, Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin health network opened three new health centers: McKinley Health Center in the heart of Milwaukee, Drexel Town Square Health Center in Oak Creek, and Mequon Health Center. Froedtert also advanced the caliber of medicine through more clinical trials and new treatments for cancer, cardiovascular and neurosurgery, and introduced innovative digital health tools and therapies to treat diabetes, hypertension, HIV, depression and more. Froedtert also opened a health clinic for people who identify as LGBTQ in Wauwatosa in July, and announced its plans for a small-scale, “neighborhood hospital” in Mequon slated to open in late 2019 or early 2020.


ProHealth Care

In spring, ProHealth Neuroscience Care moved into a new clinic located within ProHealth Waukesha Memorial Hospital and opened a new clinic in The Corridor development in Brookfield. ProHealth also plans to open the Heart and Vascular Center this fall on the ProHealth Waukesha Memorial Hospital campus, and will transform its Mukwonago medical campus into its fourth full hospital, a project slated to open in 2019. The ProHealth Medical Group clinic in Mukwonago will also undergo some changes, including a 31,370-square-foot second-floor addition. ProHealth Regency Senior Communities in New Berlin is planning to add three additions, offering 308 senior living residences and 88 assisted living units by the end of 2019.
