PEWAUKEE — As the housing market continues its rebound, Waterstone Mortgage Corp. continues to add to its workforce.

The Pewaukee-based mortgage company added 31 new employees in September. The addition of employees will help the company provide quick turnaround times for new and existing mortgages, according to a company statement.

The new hires in the Pewaukee office include Jacob Burns, training specialist, and Maria Gladney, quality control specialist.

Burns is new to the mortgage industry, and was previously employed with JP Morgan Chase.

Gladney also previously worked at JP Morgan Chase and has been in the banking industry for six years.

“Waterstone Mortgage is able to continue hiring despite market uncertainty because our company is focused on the purchase business. This allows us to focus on long-term, responsible growth,” said Liz Pond, communications manager for Waterstone.

“The addition of these new employees provides us with the resources we need to support our company’s plans for growth while continuing to deliver an exceptional mortgage lending experience to the customers we serve.”

Other hires in September include: Jaime Yepes, senior mortgage loan officer, in the Tampa, Fla., office; Janet Fennell, inside sales loan originator, in the Wilmington, N.C. office; Joel Casillas, senior mortgage consultant, in the Raleigh, N.C., office; Marena Leis, loan officer, in the Indianapolis, Ind., office; and Steve Jeppesen, senior mortgage advisor, in the Ocala, Fla., office.
