Sound names Katie Sanders as executive director

Safe & Sound has named Katie Sanders as its new
MILWAUKEE – Safe & Sound has named Katie Sanders as the new
executive director of the nonprofit organization that works with
youth, community organizations and law enforcement in Milwaukee.
Sanders has been the interim executive director since December.
Prior to Sanders, Barbara Notestein held the position of
executive director for 11 years.
“I am thrilled and honored to serve Safe & Sound in this
capacity,” Sanders said. “Safe & Sound is doing incredible work
to improve safety and quality of life in Milwaukee
neighborhoods. This is an exciting time for us as we are engaged
in a strategic planning process that will strengthen our ability
to work with residents, youth and partners to build and sustain
safe and vibrant communities in this wonderful city.”
Sanders joined Safe & Sound last May as the development and
marketing director. She has a master’s degree from the
LaFollette School of Public Affairs at the University of
Wisconsin-Madison. Her bachelor's degree is in political science
and international relations.
Prior to Safe & Sound, Sanders was director of corporate and
foundation relations at Marquette University.
