Associated Bank proposes branch near Park East

Special to The Freeman

Dec. 3, 2013

MILWAUKEE – Associated Bank is proposing a new bank branch in downtown Milwaukee, north of the Park East strip, according to plans filed with the Milwaukee Board of Zoning Appeals.

The 3,000-square-foot building would be developed on a lot south of a five-story former industrial building at 1301 N. King Drive. The plans state that the branch office would include four drive-through lanes, and a vacant lot between the boulevard and proposed bank would be converted into city-owned green space, according to the bank’s proposal.

Associated Bank would lease the space for its new branch from MB Acquisition LLC, which is an affiliate of Van Buren Management Inc. The bank is seeking a special use permit from Milwaukee’s zoning board, which meets Dec. 12.

The bank’s branch would face W. McKinley Blvd., the northern border of the Park East redevelopment area and would be between King Drive and an alley.
