WAUKESHA - Drink specials, party hats and champagne toasts. There are plenty of options around Waukesha County for New Year’s Eve.

Maybe you want to celebrate early by going to the House of Guinness where they mark midnight in Ireland or perhaps you want to make sure you get home safely by going somewhere that offers a free ride home. It’s not just all bars and music; there are family friendly options, package deals and chances for a special dinner.

Here is a sampling of some of the events:

Family friendly

* Pump It Up in Brookfield, 195 N. Janacek Road, will be holding a family-friendly event. With paid admission, children will receive a party hat, noisemaker, glow necklace, sparking juice and more. * Sunset Bowl in Waukesha, 333 W. Sunset Drive, will have a New Year’s Eve celebration running from 10 a.m. on Dec. 31 to 3 a.m. on Jan. 1. There will be an early countdown for children at 8 p.m.  There will live music by Nostalgia in Flanagan’s Pub. There will also be a drawing for a two night hotel stay in Las Vegas. 542-9191

* The Saloon on Calhoun, 17000 W. Capitol Drive in Brookfield, is planning a Bacon Blow-Out Bash from 4 p.m. New Year’s Eve until 3 a.m. on Jan. 1. The event will feature a pig roast, including a 150-pound pig wrapped in a bacon blanket. * MC’s Sports Bar, 711 Morgan Ave. in Waukesha, will have live music from Sound Therapy, plus a champagne toast, party favors and drink specials all day. 544-6799

* They will be celebrating the Irish New Year’s Eve at House of Guinness, 354 W. Main St. in Waukesha. They will open at 3 p.m. with music starting at 5 p.m. by the Blue Ribbon Band. The countdown and celebration will be at 6 p.m. www.houseofguinness.com, 446-0181



* The Sandbar Sports Pub, W278-N2315 in the City of Pewaukee, is offering all you can eat snow crab legs. There will be live music all night long and those bringing in four non-perishable food items will receive double bubble? all night.
