CEDARBURG - Dorothy Gallun Fine Jewelry, a Cedarburg business with a global Internet reach, recently was recognized by a respected jewelry blogger as one of the “Top 5 Online Antique Jewelry Shops.”

The jewelry store, N70 W5336 Bridge Road, is owned and operated by Dorothy Gallun, who is 93 years old. While she is now in business with her daughter, Patty Gallun Hansen, Dorothy still reports to work every day.

The recent recognition came from Danielle Miele, founder of Gem Gossip, a widely followed blog of the jewelry business. The mention of the store on the blog said there are “over 50 pages (online) of cute little Victorian rings with reasonable prices.”

Patty said the mention on the blog already has produced brisk sales and numerous requests for information.

“It just goes to show that if you do your homework, stay relevant and up-to-date, it pays off,” she said. “Each month, not only do I scour all of our trade magazines, but every fashion magazine and blog I can find to stay abreast of the constant-changing world of fashion.”

While area residents can visit the bricks-and-mortar store, Dorothy Gallun Fine Jewelry has an online presence at its website - www.gallunjewelry.com - as well as on other social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest and Instagram.
