MILWAUKEE – John Ferraro, the chief global operating officer at Ernst & Young and Marquette committee chairman, will head the search for Marquette University’s new president.

Marquette is searching for a permanent president by the beginning of the 2014-2015 academic year to replace Father Scott Pilarz, who stepped down last month.

The school’s retired president, Father Robert Wild, returned as the school’s interim leader.

Member of the presidential search committee include Patricia Cervenka, director of the law library and a law school professor, and William Cullinan, dean of the College of Health Sciences.

Board members on the committee include: Patrick Lawton, a managing director of the fixed income capital markets group of Robert W. Baird & Co.; Arnold Mitchem, the recently retired president of the Council for Opportunity in Education; Father Joseph O'Keefe, an education professor at Boston College; Janis Orlowski, chief operating officer and chief medical officer at MedStar Washington Hospital Center; and Owen Sullivan, a retired executive.

"The search committee will be working closely with university leadership to ensure there is an inclusive process for hearing from all of the university's constituencies, including faculty, staff, students and alumni,” the board said in a statement.
