MILWAUKEE — Tim M. Van Alstine has been named director of athletics at Cardinal Stritch University.

Van Alstine, who joins Stritch after serving as assistant vice-president/director of athletics for the Western Illinois University Athletics Department, will begin Aug. 1, according to a statement.

“Dr. Van Alstine’s experience and expertise made him an ideal choice for the position,” said Dr. James Loftus, Stritch president. “I am highly confident that he will be a bold and thoughtful leader for our university, helping our student-athletes to excel both on and off the court or field.”

Van Alstine will provide leadership and oversight for Stritch’s 18 men and women teams, intramural leagues and a spirit squad, the statement said.

Van Alstine succeeds Pat Clemens, who is retiring after 17 years of service at Cardinal Stritch.
