HARTFORD - The second time around didn’t
prove to be a fruitful venture for the Hartford Jt. 1 School
District’s $24.9 million referendum.
Voters once again said "no" to a referendum that would
have allowed the school district to build a new elementary school
and provide capital improvements to the existing schools.
The final, unofficial vote totals in the Hartford area showed
2,672 voters opposed the question to allow borrowing for a new
school and improvements. A total of 1,191 voters supported the
measure. In Dodge County, the margin was even more distinct with 114
voters against and 18 voting in favor.
