BROOKFIELD - After nearly five months of meetings, the Elmbrook
School District’s human growth and development committee has
presented a curriculum recommendation to the school board.

The Elmbrook School Board is expected to discuss the
recommendation during Tuesday’s meeting and might possibly vote on
it at the next board meeting.
The committee was established after school officials realized the
curriculum had not been reviewed within the three-year window as
required by state law. This was prompted by parents’ alarm at a
proposal to explain oral sex to sixth-graders with mention that it
could cause sexually transmitted diseases.
