WAUKESHA - Mayor Larry Nelson said Monday that he has submitted
an application to be become a delegate for Democratic
presidential candidate Barack Obama at the party’s convention
in Denver.
Nelson said if selected as a delegate, he will take a week of
vacation and pay his own way as a citizen.
"There will be no city dollars used," he said.
"This is just the first step in the process,"
Nelson said of his application. "I won’t know until after
May 4 if I have been elected as one of the three Obama delegates
from the 5th Congressional District."
