A motorcyclist Tuesday rides his Harley-Davidson along Wisconsin Avenue in Waukesha. Beginning Thursday, Wisconsin Avenue and several other portions of downtown will be closed to traffic for the Weekend in Waukesha Harley-Davidson events.

WAUKESHA -
For those who are worried about the noise of hundreds of motorcycles during the Weekend in Waukesha, a little advice: Earplugs are available at Sprizzo Gallery Caffé, 378 W. Main St., for $1.50 per set.

"We were just talking here and just thought it would be something fun to do," owner Karla Harper said. "A friend of a co-worker here has been a part of these activities, and she was the one who suggested that people might like the festivities, but might not like the noise, and might want to tone it down a little bit."

Although motorcycle noise might be a concern of city residents living near the Cutler Park area, where many of the Weekend in Waukesha events are to be held, there is not much police plan on doing to fight it.
