WAUKESHA - Waukesha Municipal Court Judge Joe Cook said Thursday he "misspoke" Wednesday when he said he was going to ask police to write fewer tickets this weekend because his office is understaffed.

"I have apologized for that. I haven’t contacted the police. I don’t have the authority to do that," Cook said. "I just don’t know what else to do other than to cut back on some nonessential court functions."
