WAUKESHA - Paula
Schultz laid back in a chair at Black Dragon Tattoo Friday afternoon
as her favorite tattoo artist Nancy etched a butterfly into the
upper portion of her chest.
A resident of
Morgan Hills, Calif., and native of the area, Schultz said she likes
having Nancy do all of her tattoo artwork, especially this one,
because this ink is more than just a souvenir of her time in town
for the Weekend in Waukesha.
“My grandpa
passed away and a couple of us are all getting the same tattoo to
remember him,” she said. “It’s kind of a nice remembrance.”
Waukesha’s
free Harley-Davidson 105th celebration event rumbled on Friday as
people from across the country rode into downtown to see what the
city had to offer as an alternative to the celebrations across
Milwaukee.
Drew
Vallozzi, one of the promoters of Weekend in Waukesha, said
attendance has been right where organizers expected it to be so far
and they’re expecting huge crowds this weekend with country music
band Montgomery Gentry playing at 9 p.m. tonight and Waukesha
hometown favorites the BoDeans playing at 7 p.m. Sunday.
He was unable to
produce attendance figures Friday afternoon.
Overall, the
festival has ran smoothly, but Vallozzi said there was an issue
Friday morning with vendors drawing more electricity than the
generators could produce, but organizers are working through it even
though he said there are no generators left in the city.
