WAUKESHA - Parents of gifted and talent
students in the Waukesha School District filed a complaint with the
Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction Wednesday because they said
schools are failing to fulfill the mandate to serve these students.

The complaint has muddied the waters surrounding district program and
service reductions because if the DPI finds the district isn’t meeting
the needs of gifted students, the district may be forced to reinstate some
positions that have been cut in the last year.
