GOP presidential candidate Mike Huckabee
meets with diners at the Original Pancake House during an
appearance Friday. His supporters praised his views on faith and
taxation as Huckabee vowed to stay in the race so conservatives
have a choice.

BROOKFIELD - With piles of pancakes, helpings of syrup and pots of
coffee as a backdrop, Republican presidential candidate Mike Huckabee met
with voters at the Original Pancake House to ask for their support.
"What’s on the menu today?" he asked as he walked in.
"Pancakes!" several people replied.
Instead of giving a formal speech, Huckabee walked through the
restaurant and spoke to attendees, with a pack of television cameras
trailing closely behind.
Joe DeRosa, the owner of the pancake house, said he offered to hold a
meet-and-greet for Huckabee because of his support of the candidate.
"I believe in the values that Mike Huckabee talks about and he is
definitely a candidate with good change ideas and I want him to stay in
the campaign as long as he can," he said.
Ten minutes before the bell rang announcing the beginning of a new day
of classes at Brookfield East High School, three students were found at
the Huckabee event: Alec Pagt, 16, and brothers Kenan O’Connor, 15, and
Brendan O’Connor, 17.
Brendan turns 18 on Election Day and is excited about voting for the
first time.
"Politicians are like rock stars. Although you may not like their
music, you give credit where credit should be given," he said about
attending the event.
