Absentee ballot voting is up, which may be a
precursor of a big local turnout in the presidential preference and
mayoral primary election Tuesday, according to municipal clerks.

The West Bend city clerk’s office has sent out or served 441 absentee
ballot as of Friday afternoon, and actually received 319 completed
ballots. That’s already more than the 409 absentee ballots cast in the
final presidential vote in 2004 and more than the 266 absentee ballots
cast in the April presidential primary, but less than the 784 absentee
ballots cast in the last gubernatorial election.
