DELAFIELD - Delafield resident Tom Aul has
dropped his lawsuit against the city for its plans to close a
controversial tax incremental finance district without providing the
municipal water system for which the district was created, officials said
Friday.
Mayor Phil Schuman said he received word from City Attorney Mark Sewell
on Friday that Aul had dropped the lawsuit, one day before common council
members were set to close TIF District #3 at a special meeting this
morning.
"I just didn’t think he had much of a case," Schuman said
Friday. "We did have a referendum on this (public water system)
several years ago."
