WAUKESHA - A volunteer wrestling coach at Waukesha West High School was
charged Wednesday with sexually assaulting two school-age brothers after
he was reportedly found in bed with one of the boys at a family Christmas
party last week.
Timothy J. Steimel, 25, of Greenfield, was charged with a count of
first-degree sexual assault of a child and a count of sexually assaulting
a child under 16. He was freed from jail after his parents posted a $2,500
cash bond and he signed a $2,500 signature bond, and was ordered to have
no contact with the two boys or the high school.
The complaint against Steimel said a family member of the boys caught
Steimel at a Christmas party at the boys’ home Dec. 26, where Steimel
was seen in a bunk bed with his body wrapped around a 12-year-old boy’s.
The boys’ mother said Steimel seemed to take a liking to her older
son, who is 17, and went to events with him and hung around their house.
She said Steimel seemed "very huggy" with her son and often had
his arm around the boy, the complaint said. In the Dec. 26 incident, a
relative found Steimel in the bed with the teen, rubbing a hand on the boy’s
body, the complaint in the case said, adding Steimel patted the boy on the
backside.
