WAUKESHA - Because of a $132,000
shortfall, the Salvation Army in Waukesha is hoping for a late
Christmas gift in August.
The annual red kettle drive held by the assistance organization
from Nov. 9 to Dec. 24, 2007, raised $268,000 outside of area
businesses, well short of its $400,000 goal for its biggest drive of
the year. To make up for the shortfall, the Salvation Army will hold
its first-ever summer donation campaign at three area businesses.
