BROOKFIELD - The city is looking to
leave the Brookfield Convention and Visitors Bureau to a third-party
for its hospitality and promotional needs, which would result in the
bureau losing nearly 70 percent of its funding.

The possibility was introduced to the city’s economic
development committee Monday afternoon.
On the recommendation of Brookfield Mayor Jeff Speaker, city
department heads and other city staff, Brookfield would like to
begin the process of preparing a request for proposals with
third-party groups for tourism and hospitality promotion services,
said Dan Ertl, director of the city’s department of community
development.
