WAUKESHA - A town of Summit man is dead as a result of the flooding - the first reported such death in the state - and Federal Emergency Management Agency workers are expected in the county in the coming weeks to assess damage left by rains that began June 7.

A member of the Waukesha County Sheriff’s Department confirmed Robert Schaf, 68, was found dead Saturday morning in the area of Venice Beach Road in the town of Summit.

A news release from sheriff’s department Capt. Karen Ruff contained information about the town of Summit man’s death, but did not name him.

According to the release, the victim’s roommate called 911 and reported the man missing about 8 a.m. Saturday. Friends had not seen the man since the night before. His vehicle was found by friends after the initial 911 call. The release further states the man’s body was found near his vehicle.
