Owners renting homes during Harley event
Weekend accommodations already hard to find

WAUKESHA - Entrepreneurially minded homeowners in Waukesha County are hoping to turn a H.O.G. celebration into a cash cow.

Several people have ads on the Internet site Craigslist, offering to rent out their homes to those attending Harley-Davidson’s 105th anniversary celebrations in Milwaukee and Waukesha over Labor Day weekend.

Travis Menard said he is renting out his Nashotah home and even spots in his yard for camping.

"I have a Harley and I’ve been to places like Daytona on my bike so I know what it’s like to try to find a place to stay," he said of his idea of posting his home as a weekend rental.

So far, he has inquiries from people in Oregon and Pennsylvania, he said.
