Gas station rehab just a start, businessman Kearns says

WEST BEND - If one local businessman has his way, the West Paradise Drive retail strip will eventually be eclipsed as the city’s quickestgrowing by another on the city’s northwest side.

Kearns Motor Car Co. owner Steve Kearns of Slinger has scooped up several properties along West Washington Street (Highway 33) and will begin what he describes as a gradual re-envisioning of its retail corridor with a major renovation at an aging convenience store complex.

"I think it’s an eyesore," Kearns said of the EZ In & Out, 3100 W. Washington St., which is home to a small convenience mart and the decade-old Presto Italiano restaurant.
