SLINGER - A Slinger High School junior continues to fight for her life after being shot in the head Saturday night.

On May 3, Nicole Sell was the victim of a drive-by shooting after leaving her job at Casa Rebecca with two co-workers in the town of West Bend.

Surrounded by friends and family, Sell’s aunt, Kim Schlise, gave an update on the 16-year-old’s condition during a Thursday news conference in Fireman’s Park. Nicole’s mother, Kristine, remains at her daughter’s bedside at Children’s Hospital in Wauwatosa. Sell is in a medically induced coma, Schlise said.

Schlise pleaded for anyone who might know something about the incident to come forward. She also requested for the family to be left alone so it can focus on Nicole.

At about 11 p.m. Saturday Sell was struck in the head by a bullet when several shots where fired at a car while she was asleep in the back seat. The car was driven by Sell’s boyfriend, Justin Towne of Slinger. Towne and passenger Scott Cecil, both 17-year-old Slinger High School students, were uninjured.
