WAUKESHA - State Rep. Sue Jeskewitz, R-Menomonee Falls, announced
Thursday that she will not seek a seventh term in the Assembly in
the fall election.
Jeskewitz said she reached the decision after some deep soul
searching and deliberation, and while it’s not an easy choice, it’s
the right conclusion.
"Well, I’ve been in the Assembly for 12 years, and I just
want to start the next chapter of my life," she said. "I
want to go out while I’m still energetic."
First elected in 1996, Jeskewitz, 66, has been involved in
high-profile legislation, such as the recent anti-human trafficking
bill and the financial modernization bill. She is also co-chair of
the Joint Audit Committee.
