Latest Badger Poll gives 
Democrats the edge
Local leaders not swayed by numbers

WAUKESHA - Democrats are more trusted than Republicans to run the state, and the majority of Wisconsin residents think their current Legislature and Gov. Jim Doyle are doing a good job, according to the latest Badger Poll, released Thursday by the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

According to the poll, 54 percent of Wisconsinites approve of the job the Legislature is doing, up from 40 percent in December. Although there was such a large spike in lawmaker job approval during the past four months, it’s not enough to give local incumbents up for re-election a boost of confidence.
