WEST BEND - The lawyer for a former town of Polk man who was
implicated in an explosives case where a purported drug lab was
found in May 2007, and now charged with 80 counts of possession of
child pornography after his computers were seized during a search
warrant last year, filed several motions contesting his arrest and
the search of his property.

Ryan Hetzel, the attorney for Donald J. VanderBloomen, said the
motions he filed before Judge James Muehlbauer included one for
illegal arrest, one contesting the legality of the search warrant
served on his client and one to suppress statements his client made
to investigators.
During a hearing on Thursday, Muehlbauer directed that briefs be
filed by January 23, after which a decision will be made.
