Lauren Pavlic, a journalism student at the University of Wisconsin-Waukesha, listens to the vice presidential debate Thursday from the commons building on the campus of UWW. Pavlic and several UWW students gathered at the commons building to watch the debate.

WAUKESHA - As the vice presidential candidates debated Thursday night, a room full of students at the University of Wisconsin-Waukesha listened. Some took copious notes while others leaned forward in their chairs, listening intently.

Austen Lang, a freshman at UWW studying English, also watched the presidential debate last week. He said vice presidential candidates Gov. Sarah Palin and Sen. Joe Biden talked with each other more in their debate than presidential candidates Sens. Barack Obama and John McCain did in their first debate.
