WAUKESHA - Wisconsin House members supported the
$700 billion financial bailout package on a 5-3 vote, just as they
did with a version that was defeated in the House earlier this week.
Supporters
picked up enough converts Friday to easily win passage of the
legislation, but none came from Wisconsin. Again, U.S. Reps. Jim
Sensenbrenner, R-Menomonee Falls, Tom Petri, R-Fond du Lac, and
Steve Kagen, D-Green Bay, voted against the legislation.
Voting
“yes” were U.S. Reps. David Obey, D-Wausau, Ron Kind, D-LaCrosse,
Gwen Moore, D-Milwaukee, Tammy Baldwin, D-Madison, and Paul Ryan,
R-Janesville.
Sensenbrenner,

voted on Monday, said he continued to oppose it because the new
version still missed the point.
“Today’s
