Brewers fans console themselves with a 'moral victory'

Brewers fans at Benders Restaurant and Sports Pub who watched their team lose to the Phillies Sunday consoled themselves with a moral victory.

"They did better than the Cubs. That makes it a successful season," said Kevin Buettner of West Bend.

Buettner, who works at Benders, watched the Brewers’ last game with other die-hards at the bar. They wore their rally caps and beads and stayed optimistic until the very end, Buettner said. The game started to go south when Pat Burrell hit a home run in the 3rd inning with Shane Victorino and Ryan Howard on bases, driving the score to 4-0 in the Phillies’ favor.
