A new grandstand, pictured, with seating for 723 and a concessions area, press box and restrooms is being proposed as an improvement to the current baseball diamond at Frame Park so it can serve as home for a new Northwoods League team. The grandstand was designed to blend in with the nearby Rotary Building. The plan also includes upgrades to the field, bleacher seating for 709 and a 5,000-square-foot party deck and dugouts.

WAUKESHA - The vote on plans for improvements to Frame Park’s ball diamond lasted almost as long as a nine-inning game Wednesday and ended with a baseball-like tally - 4-3.

There were even some fireworks.

The close vote by the plan commission Wednesday on a proposal by Chad Bauer, co-owner of the Northwoods League Green Bay Bullfrogs, to make $1.2 million in improvements to the park’s existing baseball diamond was indicative of the controversy surrounding it.

Betty Carroll, one of the 30 or so in the audience, told the commission it is "a travesty to wreck Frame Park."
