Gov. Jim Doyle addresses supporters of Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., Thursday during a rally held at Obama’s Waukesha campaign headquarters. About 200 people were on hand for the event.

WAUKESHA - For Waukesha resident Scott Mayday, the excitement and media circus engulfing the Center Court Sports Complex in Waukesha on Thursday was something he could’ve done without.

The idea of seeing Republican presidential candidate Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., and his running mate Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin was something that Mayday said he could care less about. Instead, he wanted to hang out in downtown Waukesha with a swarm of other Waukesha County Democrats in an effort to see Gov. Jim Doyle hold his own rally here to counter the Republican hype.
