McCain tries to gain economic edge
Senator says he's on side of homeowners, small businesses

WAUKESHA - The economy looks to play an increasingly important factor in the presidential race, and during his visit to Waukesha on Thursday, Republican John McCain positioned himself as the candidate best capable of improving the situation.

Speaking to an enthusiastic crowd at the Center Court Sports Complex, McCain repeatedly argued that his policies would help two of the groups most threatened by the weakened housing market - homeowners and small businesses.
