Ron Weisflog, a City of Pewaukee native who received national media attention for statements made at Thursday’s visit by Republican presidential candidate John McCain, poses for a photo on the sideline of Schneider Stadium in Waukesha prior to the Catholic Memorial-Kettle Moraine high school football game. Weisflog's grandson Chris Schrubbe is a senior defensive tackle for Catholic Memorial.

CITY OF PEWAUKEE - America met Ron Weisflog on Thursday, and though he didn’t plan it, his impassioned pleas for John McCain to step up campaign efforts have taken the City of Pewaukee native’s beliefs to every corner of the world.

Audio and video clips of his comments - which included telling McCain “Let me finish, please,” when the senator tried agreeing with him - were played on numerous television broadcasts, the Rush Limbaugh radio show and referenced  on countless Web sites.

“It has been astounding,” said Weisflog, 64, the former owner of Weisflog Home Design & Remodeling Show Room in City of Pewaukee whose primary residence is now in Naples, Fla. “It’s just unbelievable.”
