WAUKESHA - The Waukesha County Board approved the 2009-13 capital
projects plan Tuesday, but in approving the plan, supervisors showed
strong divisions on how to tackle the fate of the Waukesha County
Courthouse.
A plan in the project list that will allow county officials to
begin exploring options in 2012 for either upgrading or building a
new courthouse was pulled aside for more discussion by supervisors
who were split between moving the study forward or taking it out
completely. It was added back in by a 17-7 vote with supervisors Ted
Rolfs, John Pledl, Walter Kolb, Robert Hutton, Fritz Ruf, Kathleen
Cummings and Peter Gundrum opposing its inclusion.
