Supervisors divided over Waukesha County Courthouse’s future
County approves capital projects plan

WAUKESHA - The Waukesha County Board approved the 2009-13 capital projects plan Tuesday, but in approving the plan, supervisors showed strong divisions on how to tackle the fate of the Waukesha County Courthouse.

A plan in the project list that will allow county officials to begin exploring options in 2012 for either upgrading or building a new courthouse was pulled aside for more discussion by supervisors who were split between moving the study forward or taking it out completely. It was added back in by a 17-7 vote with supervisors Ted Rolfs, John Pledl, Walter Kolb, Robert Hutton, Fritz Ruf, Kathleen Cummings and Peter Gundrum opposing its inclusion.
