WAUKESHA - With the general election days away, the most prominent
state Assembly district is proving much more competitive than
originally thought, at least financially.
According to the final campaign finance reports filed by state
candidates for the fall election, 97th Assembly District candidates
Ruth Page Jones, a Democrat, and Republican incumbent Rep. Bill
Kramer were both able to raise ample amounts of money for their
efforts during the final stretch before the election Tuesday.
According to the final reports, which were filed Monday with the
state Government Accountability Board Elections Division, Jones has
$24,334 on hand, compared to $36,704 for Kramer. However, during the
course of the campaign, she was able to raise a total of $44,501
compared to $40,194 for Kramer.
