Homeward-bound Harley riders 
take plenty of memories with them

Harley-Davidson riders travel east on Holy Hill Road late Sunday afternoon as the last summer sunlight begins to slip behind the distant hills. The Holy Hill area was one of many Washington County locations frequented by motorcycle riders.

The roar of motorcycle engines has faded, but visitors to the Harley-Davidson 105th Anniversary drove away with souvenirs and memories that included visiting area dealerships and taking in the county’s natural scenic beauty.

H.O.G. Haven at Washington County Fair Park was the weekend home to hundreds of campers, but not everybody found a patch of grass to stay at on the 133-acre site.

Jim Johnson and Rick "Chuck" Martinez came up from Chicago and were sleeping on the floor of the AmericInn.

"There’re pretty cool about it, they gave us blankets," said Martinez, as the pair visited the nearby West Bend Harley-Davidson dealership Saturday morning.

Bill and Beth Coleman of Wisconsin Rapids stopped in at West Bend Harley-Davidson to visit with friends from when Bill Coleman used to work at the dealership.

"You’ve got to get a shirt from every dealership," Bill Coleman said.
