WAUKESHA - The state tourism department
is touting Wisconsin's spirit of creativity in its forthcoming
advertisements, and has turned to two of Waukesha's native sons to
help drive home that identity.
On Wednesday, Gov. Jim Doyle announced the state's new branding
strategy, which sets aside the typical images of beaches and
multi-colored foliage. Starting this fall, ads will instead feature
some of the state's most well-known personalities.
The autumn campaign, which includes television, Internet and
print ads, will feature Waukesha South graduates Sammy Llanas and
Kurt Neumann, the core members of the band The BoDeans.
