Cain unseats Grundahl for judge
Grundahl's term was marked by controversy

WEST BEND - Grafton attorney Steven Cain defeated incumbent John Grundahl in Tuesday's general election to become the next Mid-Moraine Municipal Court judge.

"I'm excited and humbled by the public willingness to support change," Cain said. "I'm eager to work hard to improve the court."

Cain received 11,653 votes, while Grundahl received 8,179. Cain carried Ozaukee County in which he lives with 3,373 votes to Grundahl's 2,131. Cain also carried Grundahl's home county, Washington County, with 7,923 votes, 56.49 percent, to his opponent's 6,048, 43.12 percent. The results are complete but unofficial as of press time.

Cain said Tuesday night that he will focus on teaching high school students about laws and the effects they can have, which was one of his campaign promises.
