WAUKESHA - District 1 Alderman Terry
Thieme easily beat his opponent, John Holst, with 69 percent of the
votes in Tuesday’s election.
Thieme received 341 votes and Holst received 155 votes Tuesday,
according to unofficial results. Thieme got 69 percent of the votes
and Holst had 31 percent. There were no write-ins, according to the
Waukesha city clerk’s office.
The votes will be canvassed Thursday.
Thieme, 52, a retired police officer and a metal tool shop
quality control inspector, was appointed District 1 alderman in May
2008 and said while running for the 2009 election, he felt the city
was going in the right direction when it comes to development. He
cited the new businesses in downtown and the Shoppes at Fox River on
Sunset Drive.
