OCONOMOWOC - Former Mayor Gary Kohlenberg won the District 2 aldermanic seat held for 29 years by Ed Hollatz by a vote of 391 to 214.

Kohlenberg won 65 percent of the vote and Hollatz won 35 percent. There were no write-in votes.

Serving as mayor from 2002 to 2004, Kohlenberg famously beat longtime incumbent Tom Foti in a write-in campaign. He said he is eager to serve the city again as an alderman.

"Ed Hollatz has served our community well for many years. I am grateful for all he has done for our city," Kohlenberg said. "Oconomowoc voters have chosen a new direction for our city. I am ready to meet the challenges ahead."

At 82, Hollatz said he will not seek another term on the council and was grateful to his supporters.

"I feel very fortunate to have served as alderman all these years, and I wish Gary luck," he said.
